I will admit that I am a little bit of a brand snob. Before I had kids, I never bought anything generic. However, as money got a little bit tighter, I found myself buying more and more store brands. The last holdout for me was medicine. I wasn’t convinced that store brand medicines were either 1) as effective or 2) as good tasting. So I started researching my closest pharmacy, Walgreens.

If you don’t believe it, grab a couple of packages and compare them for yourself. The active ingredients are always listed in a little chart with their pharmaceutical names plus exact measurements. As a runner, I go through a lot of ibuprofen. The Walgreens Ibuprofen tablets have the exact same ingredients as the more expensive ones on the shelf next to them but are significantly cheaper. When you add up all of the other products your family uses (cough medicines, bandages, etc), it adds up over a year. I use the various cough and cold medicines for my kids and they never complain about flavors or varieties. With a 100% satisfaction guarantee, there isn’t any reason at all not to try them.

Went on line to enter my number for you “Save and Win” contest and all I get is stuff to sign up for and cannot find that screen. You need to be more user friendly if you are going to hand those out.
We have a “Walgreens Discount Card for Caterpillar” which gives us a percentage off on any walgreens brand that we buy and a smaller percentage off on any other brands. Imagine my surprise when I purchased $117.45 worth of merchandise and my discount card was not valid. I have called the Walgreens Customer Service and was told, too bad but the new cards are late in coming from Walgreens. There was no way this girl could help me but to say, the new cards are in the mail. I have to travel 45 miles one way to get to a Walgreens, and usually spend a tidy sum of money. I resent being told, too bad, there was a problem with Walgreens not getting the cards out in a timely manner.
