Update: Good news, there are now THREE opportunities for $3 each! All of them are for watching a commercial in the same way. Ford (reward expires January 30, 2025), LEGO (reward expires January 30, 2025), and Fairlife (reward expires January 30, 2025).
More info on how to score these credits:
So be sure to ALWAYS take a look at the commercials at the top of your screen when you turn on your Fire TV because this is at least the 4th one of these opportunities that I have seen in the last year.
As I was getting on the treadmill today and starting up my Fire TV, I noticed a brief ad pop up at the top of the screen. Putting my viewing of My Lady Jane on hold, I got closer to the tv to look at the details. (P.S. I see Fire TV sticks for only 17.99 for Prime members!)
The ad rotated by to the next movie preview, so I had to keep hitting the back button to get a shot of it. But it looked like this:
“Earn a $5 Prime Video Credit to dip into Summer’s Biggest Hits while enjoying new $3 Subway Dippers.”
I wasn’t sure if they meant that you had to buy the Dippers to get the Amazon Video credit, but I am always willing to be the guinea pig in these situations, so I clicked the “Learn More”. It took me to this:
Watch video to earn $5 Prime Video Credit
Absolutely! So I clicked to watch the commercial (which wasn’t long and was something I had already seen on tv about the Subway Dippers). After finishing it, they said an email would be sent to my account to claim my credit.
The email arrived a few minutes later and said this:
We hope you enjoy your $5 Prime Video credit on on us.
How to use your Prime Video credit:
Step 1: Visit the Prime Video store on web, mobile, or television.
Step 2: Choose a movie or TV show and select the Prime Video credit in your purchase options.
Step 3: The credit will automatically be applied to your eligible selection and discounted price will be shown in Your Order History.
I found the Terms and Conditions on the Amazon site, and it looks like the offer expires on July 14, and you have to use your promotional credit by August 13. There do not seem to be any conditions on what you have to watch to get it, except: “Offer only applies to digital content sold by Amazon.com Services LLC (look for “sold by Amazon.com Services LLC” on the content detail page). Digital content sold by third-party sellers or other Amazon entities will not qualify for this offer.”
I never know how people are targeted for these things (do you have to be a Prime member? Is it only certain members?). But it’s good to keep an eye out for it if you are a Fire TV user so that you can take advantage!
