Everyone who knows me knows that I am an absolute Disney addict. We own Disney Vacation Club, visit the parks at least once a year, and take Disney cruises whenever we can.
Part of what I love is the planning. In fact, my family thinks I may love the planning more than the trips! I can spend an entire year picking out our hotel, researching which parks are least busy, reading restaurant reviews, and choosing fast passes. I leave no stone unturned when it comes to planning our Disney vacations!
If you are new to the Disney experience, I encourage you to take advantage of the Free Planning DVD. I have a few of these because they update them every so often. You’ll have a much better idea of just what goes into planning a Disney vacation after you watch it. Then you can decide if you are like me and need to obsess over every little detail or if you would rather wing it and just enjoy the experience as it comes. I have to say that there are pros and cons to each. Another idea is to use a Disney travel agent who can help you with a lot of your decisions.
One of the other fun things about the DVD is using it just to get everyone in your house excited about the trip (as if they wouldn’t be anyway??). Sometimes it takes seeing how much there is to do across the various parks and properties to really understand how a Disney trip can be perfect no matter what age you are.
How do YOU plan your Disney trips? Do you use a professional? Do you make a Google doc for the family to see every Fast Pass, Extra Magic Hour, and dinner reservation (that’s me)? Or do you fly by the seat of your pants and enjoy the ride?
